Year of Reading Newsletters

We’re thrilled to begin a year focused on inspiring a love of reading across our school community. We invite you to join us in making reading a daily habit – whether it’s sharing a bedtime story, visiting the library, or talking about your favourite books together. Let’s make 2026 a year full of stories and imagination!

  • Bookdrop Newsletter May/June 2026 – In this issue, readers can discover the brilliant children’s author Mel Taylor-Besset, who shares insights into her newest book in the Riley Wright series. Mel also offers some fantastic writing tips designed to inspire young writers and help nurture a real love of storytelling. It’s a wonderful read for pupils, parents, and anyone who enjoys children’s literature.
  • Bookdrop Newsletter January/February 2026 – This term’s newsletter shines a spotlight on author Guy Bass, whose popular character Stitch Head is now the star of an exciting new film! You’ll also find a list of recommended books for children, carefully chosen to spark curiosity and enjoyment at home and in school.
