Reception enjoyed a very special visit from one of our children’s grandparents, who came in to talk to us all about life in the past. The children listened with great enthusiasm as our visitor shared real stories, memories, and experiences from their childhood.
The session gave the children a wonderful opportunity to compare life today with life long ago. They were fascinated to hear about old toys, games, ways of travelling, and what school was like many years ago. The children asked thoughtful questions and showed great curiosity throughout the visit.
This experience supported our Understanding the World curriculum by helping the children develop a sense of history and change over time. We are incredibly grateful to our visiting grandparents for bringing the past to life and helping our children deepen their learning in such a meaningful way.
