Introduction: 22 January 2026

In 2026, we are proud to be taking part in the National Year of Reading! This exciting year is all about enjoying books, sharing stories and discovering the magic of reading together.

Every class has a special class book to explore and celebrate. Our reading journey begins in Reception with the fun and adventurous We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and continues through the school to Year 5, where children will explore the wonderful story The Secret Garden.

To launch the National Year of Reading, children have created bright and imaginative displays inspired by their class texts. These displays show their learning, creativity and love of reading, and help to make our school a place where stories are everywhere.

We are excited to continue our National Year of Reading and can’t wait to see where our books take us!

Update: 10 February 2026

As part of our celebrations for the Year of Reading, we are proud to share our fabulous new display, which showcases a selection of newly published books, highlights the monthly reading activities that families can enjoy at home, and introduces our four amazing Reading Ambassadors.

The display also shines a spotlight on our Reader of the Week, celebrating pupils who demonstrate enthusiasm, progress, and a love of reading. See picture 8 below.
