Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic day in Stratford-upon-Avon, where they learned about the life and legacy of William Shakespeare.

The children visited Shakespeare’s Birthplace and discovered that he was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. Seeing the historic building helped bring their learning about Shakespeare and Tudor England to life.

The children also visited the fascinating MAD (Mechanical Art and Design) Museum. They explored a variety of moving sculptures and interactive exhibits, learning how gears, pulleys, levers and motors work together to create movement. The visit encouraged pupils to think creatively about science, engineering and design.

At Stratford Butterfly Farm, Year 5 entered a tropical rainforest environment filled with hundreds of free-flying butterflies. They learned about the butterfly life cycle and discovered how different species use colour and camouflage to survive. The children were a credit to the school throughout the day, showing enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour.
