Our whole-school PSHE displays celebrate the important learning that children will undertake across every year group throughout the academic year. The displays showcase how pupils will develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to thrive both in school and beyond.
Our PSHE curriculum begins in Reception, where children explore Being Me in My World through the much-loved story The Colour Monster. Through this learning, children develop an understanding of their emotions, build self-awareness and begin to establish positive relationships with others.
In Year 1, pupils celebrate their individuality through Celebrating Me, You and Our Families. They learn about their own identities, explore different family structures and develop an appreciation of the similarities and differences that make each person unique.
Year 2 children take part in Me, My Body and Staying Safe, supported by learning linked to Pantosaurus. This important unit helps pupils understand personal boundaries, identify trusted adults and develop the knowledge and confidence needed to stay safe both in and out of school.
In Year 3, pupils explore Me, My Friends and Belonging, focusing on the qualities of positive friendships, respect for others and the importance of creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and accepted.
Year 4 pupils develop essential life skills through Money Matters. They learn about earning, saving, spending and budgeting, helping them to understand the importance of making thoughtful and responsible financial decisions.
In Year 5, children consider how to Positively Engage with Our World. They explore topics such as media literacy, online safety, misinformation and digital responsibility, equipping them to become informed and responsible citizens in an increasingly connected world.
Finally, Year 6 pupils look towards the future through their study of Artificial Intelligence (AI). They explore both the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies, developing the critical thinking skills needed to use AI safely, responsibly and ethically.
Together, these displays demonstrate the breadth and progression of our PSHE curriculum and highlight our commitment to developing confident, respectful and responsible young people. Through their learning, pupils will be equipped to make positive choices, care for others and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the wider world.
